Mailfence’s goal is to develop the world’s most secure and private email service that replaces mainstream e-mail providers. In our opinion, you cannot trust traditional mail providers. As you might know, providers like Gmail stopped their end-to-end encrypted email projects. Additionally, Google did not abandon this project because they do not have the technical capabilities. The reason they do not provide encrypted email is that it goes against their business model. What’s more, Google wants to know as much as possible about their users. In addition, the US government wants to be able to access data stored on US cloud services. End-to-end encryption would make this impossible. Yahoo even allowed US authorities to spy on all their users.

Our ambitions extend further than offering an alternative to privacy-conscious people. We want to be the alternative for anybody needing an email suite by offering the most user-friendly email service. Furthermore, even people that care less about privacy and more about ease-of-use (In our opinion they should also care about privacy of course). That is why this redesign project is so timely.

A fresh design for our web interface

This update is part of a larger project that aims to develop a fully redesigned responsive front-end. Moreover, It is an intermediary release of this new design. The responsive web app and dedicated Mailfence mobile app are still in development and are scheduled for the beginning of 2020.

We launched the redesign and rebuild a while ago when Victor Miguel contacted us he is a brilliant designer with a strong passion for privacy.

He came up with a wonderful new design and lots of interesting ideas on how to improve the user experience. We thank him for all the work that he continues to put into Mailfence! This is one – of many examples – how our community helps us to develop one of the most secure email services of the world!

Our new redesigned user interface is available to all Mailfence users and customers. If you are not already a Mailfence customer, you may want to sign up for a free account now and discover why hundreds of thousands of users trust Mailfence for their secure communication and collaboration.
